    Tortured by Torture

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 07:25 AM GMT [General]

An American interrogator describes the futility and evil of torture.  This is well-worth reading:

OMG, Mike Brown speaks and he is clueless!!!!!!!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 02:08 AM EST [General]

Mark Curnutte actually "interviewed" Mike Brown. I use quotation marks, because I havent seen such softballs since this past summer at Rumpke Park. However, what MIke Brown had to say was astounding, at least to me. MC's first question was about Coach Lewis and Mike says "They coach the same...They are teachers and... they do their jobs". Mike Brown believes Marvin and his staff are doing their jobs. 1-10-1 must be acceptable to Mr Brown. MC's 2nd question was "Where have things gone wrong this season?" Mike Brown states "It's hard to have success in this league without your core players" Mike states that "We're playing with literally less than half the people we thought would be our starters... we lost Carson Palmer who is our linchpin player. We lost our best defensive player before the season started Odell Thurman. The Linebacker corps we thought we would be playing with was Rivers, Thurman, and Pollack. They are all gone, two for good. When you have that kind of erosion on your football team, it is hard to be successful. We have not managed to overcome it." OK this is unbelievable to me. Odell Thurman hasn't played a game since the playoff game against the Steelers following the 2005 season. David Pollack broke his neck against the Browns in September of 2006. Mike built his defense around a player who has been suspended for two years by the NFL and has been and out of rehab numerous times since 2006 and a player who broke his neck in 2006. It has been obvious to me that we were short on linebackers, but rather than replacing those players who were obviously done in the NFL we built our defense around them. How stupid is this man??? MC's third question asked will Marvin Lewis have a chance to overcome this season?? Mike Brown answered "I think in many ways he has done an incredibly good job Our players still try hard. He has them out there trying to the best of their ability" I see lollygagging and guys playing at 90% effort with their heads on a swivel. Mike Brown sees great coaching and great effort. The interview goes on and Mike's quotes are "I am pleased with the effort and the coaches effort""I think things would take a quantum leap forward if we had Carson back on the field and playing the way we know he can" "I call them themes. They like to talk about different themes when things don't go well" This man is so far removed from reality that it's scary. We just need to get Carson healthy and get Odell and Pollack back to the team and we are set. We'd be Super Bowl bound according to MIke Brown.  I didn't see anything about fortifying our offensive or defensive lines. I didn't see we need a pass rusher on defense. I didn't see we are still without a good running back. I didn't see that maybe we need to improve our use of gametime decisions especially clock management. I didn't see that our offense is stagnant and we haven't ran a new play in 5 seasons. I didn't see that we maybe should've oughta could we replace Odell and Pollack. I didn't see that it is disgusting to me to be 1-10-1 and I am amazed we won and tied a game. I didn't see that it causes me to puke every time i think of how bad we have played, coached, and ripped off our fans this season. Mike Brown must be a masochist, because losing and being embarassed on the field don't seem to hurt this man one iota. It's obvious Mike Brown doesn't care and I wonder why do I.

    Shae's 2 Cents: Raw 12/1/08

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 01:59 AM EST [General]

So here we are at my first installment of Shae's 2 Cents the Raw edition. Where I give my thoughts on the happenings on every Raw show.

    JERRICHO PROMO

That was graphic. lol. But hey, that would deffinately suck if you were a wrestler and your kid idolizes someone else.

C.M. PUNK & KOFFI KINGSTON VS CODY RHODES AND MANU

I don't care what anyone says about Punk and Kingston, you put those two twisted f**ks together, the team is lethal and deadly. They are just a sweet tag team. :-) The match was cool too.

    DX X-MAS PROMO

Is it me or did HBK had 6 too many YJ Stinger energy drinks? I was rolling when he was throwing his fit. lmao!

    JILLIAN VS MELINA

I knew Melina would dominate. And that was so hysteical the way Santino was trying out Melina's enterence.

    JBL & HBK PROMO

Geez, what a way to put a good man down.  But if HBK and JBL have an aliance, I'd be real interested on how it plays out. But if you ask me, I think its not gonna be as good as HBK and HHH.

    WWE.COM AD

    One word: stupid.

    BATISTA VS DOLPH ZIGGLAR

Zigglar was not bad out there.  But I'm not really warming up to his gimmick quite yet. But WWE did something right I think. Give people like him work for the stardom. Not just hand them glory on a silver platter like Koslov, John Cena, and Santino.

    JOHN MORRISON VS FINALY

Granted, Morrison won the match but he is like Rey Mysterio and took a step backword. Granted he held ECW gold, but if he is competeing on such a flagship show like Raw, he should get a WHC shot.

    REY MYSTERIO VS  THE MIZ

Its cool that Mysterio got a title contendership match but he's too good to take a step down.  I love the dude but I would of given the match to The Miz. If Miz were to get a push in singles compitition, the IC title picture would of been a great place to start. God honest opinion, I wanted Miz to win.

    KANE VS JOHN CENA

If people in WWE Universe dig Cena in his rare form, he should make it come out often. This ruthless, bad a$$, superman type front is just great. Figured that the match ended this way.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

And that was the first instalment of Shae's 2 Cents, The Raw Edition. I would love your guys' feed back and comments.

    Story of my sis

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 01:55 AM EST [General]

A fellow Universe member wanted me to post this story because it my story was really heartfelt so here it is.

My 14 year old sis, Jessica fell in love with the Big Show since she first started watching wrestling. That was Big Show's debut in WWE was when she first started watching. Her dream is to meet the Big Show one day. She said the reason she likes him is that Big Show is Big. And being in a wheel chair, she admires him because they are similar in terms of having a physical trait that makes them so distinctive. (Jessica has Cerebral Palsy) She shows me that her disabilities don't bother her because she shows me how tough she is.  I ask her how she gets her strength, and she tells me "The Big Show". I'm sure if he hears her story, he'd be that much more proud that he is an insperation to kids.

    "Aqui Entre Nosotros"

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 01:52 AM EST [General]

Audley Harrison - almost nine years on and still a prospect

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 06:45 AM GMT [General]

Audley Harrison believes an eye-catching performance against unbeaten Irish heavyweight Martin Rogan on Saturday night will put him in the frame for a European or even world title shot next year.

How many times have we heard that ?
I watched every one of Harrison early fights on the BBC, and it soon became evident that he believed his own hype. What we saw in the ring was not the stuff of world championship material we were led to believe.

Harrison's Olympic gold medal success as a superheavyweight was in Sydney, in 2000, and at the age 37, with three career losses in his last seven fights, the swing doors may be closing on the Last Chance Saloon.

Frank Warren, the promoter with whom Harrison should have started his career - instead of promoting himself - has given Harrison the chance with a deal. In April on the undercard of the Calzaghe v Hopkins light-heavyweight fight in Las Vegas, the British media sat down with Harrison for a round table interview. Harrison had the opportunity then to admit he has perhaps gone about things the wrong way. No. He simply stated things had gone on in the background beyond his control.

A dose of humble pie might have been in order. Harrison says he is more humble, and other scribes testify to the fact that he showed more humility in Manchester in September.

Harrison insists he has found a humbler self, yet it is hard to find in the wreck of his last seven fights, with three defeats. It has been a case of which 'A-force' will turn up.

Harrison said on Monday, as he gave a news conference ahead of his contest - "I can be heavyweight champion of the world next year. I'm not delusional nothing. Every fight I have they say is the 'last chance saloon'. I fighting for my wife and daughter.  I can't take anything for granted against Rogan. He's from strong, Irish stock. He will come and cause me some heat, but I have faced rough, tough guys before."

Just to spur him on - a little encouragement for Harrison. Rogan should be no match for you. The man who doubles as a taxi driver is not in your class. In other words, you should walk through Rogan. David Haye would. Go and knock Rogan out, take him apart, show just how devastating you can be. You'll need that against either of the Klitschko brothers, or Haye, for that matter.

By next year, or at least the end of it, it will be six months short of a decade since Harrison won the gold medal at the Sydney Olympics. A decade on the fringes, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Unless Harrison steps up to the plate in his next two fights, starting with Rogan on Saturday night, we should leave A-force to ride off into the sunset.

i haven't wrote an actual blog in a while, so heres my thoughts on the Possible HBK forced heel turn gimmick and WHC storyline

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 01:18 AM EST [General]

the possible HBK forced heel turn could actually be a great storyline. to clairfy when i say a "forced heel turn" i mean the storyline uses a scapegoat reason to turn heel. hbk will either be jbl's manager while jbl goes for a title opporunity, jbl's tag partner in a quest for tag team gold, or hbk will just the whipping boy/paid servant for jbl. the economic downfall gimmick is kind of a cheapshot  but alot of people relate to it all too well. the storyline could probably last till royal rumble or WM25

with tonights beatdown of john cena, randy orton will probably get the next shot at john cena. jericho's complaining and whining about the fans is starting to get old quickly and a randy orton led priceless faction and reuniting of CTC could be a good storyline to go into the royal rumble

Your Guide to Gift-Giving, Part II

Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 01:09 AM EST [DX]

DX was at it again on the December 1 episode of Raw! This time they were hawking the new Official Scale Elimination Chamber!  Take a look at what this puppy features:

    • 40 pieces to assemble (Challenging!)
    • Comes in its own box (Convenient!)
    • Authentic merchandise; real scale 1:1 with the real Elimination Chamber (Unlike those cheap Asian imports where the chamber fits neatly underneath the ring...)
    • Nearly two feet in diameter (Almost as big as Hornswoggle!)
    • Holds over 85 WWE Superstar action figures! (Doubles as a briefcase!)
    • A free gift of no-longer-marketable action figures! (Collectible!)
    • Some assembly required! (Get to work!)
    • Recreate all your favorite matches! (What's this? Rey Mysterio is on the top turnbuckle, oh my! JBL is in for a world of hurt! Mysterio leaps, does a 360 somersault... no, a 540, no, a 1380, and now he's flying off into the kitchen? And he connects with a missile dropkick to Timmy's forehead! What a slobberknocker!)
    • An empty box to play with when you're done! (Back to basics!)
    • All for the discounted price of $104.99! (Affordable!)

But all kidding aside... that is one cool toy.
